Visiting any church for the very first time can make anyone a little nervous. Where do I go? What do I wear? What time do I show up? What’s here for my kids? What can I expect? These and many more questions can come to your mind. Well, we want to put you at ease. Your first visit to Glendora Alliance Church will be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family. We want you to experience inspiring music, helpful teaching and preaching, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcome and “at home!” Here are a few answers to your questions about what you might expect on your first visit.

What should I wear?

There is not a dress code at Glendora Alliance Church for members or guests. Our pastor and many of our church family dress in casual “Sunday” dress; however, a specific attire is not required, and our members wear a variety of styles of clothing. We think it makes sense to wear nice, clean, modest clothing to church. As long as you do that you will not feel out of place.

Do you have a nursery?

Yes. Nursery is provided during all services and youth classes are offered for children as well.

What are your services like?

Singing

During the Gathering, our worship team will lead us in a number of songs. GAC strives to balance new, original music with some of the great hymns of our faith. As we sing our focus is not ourselves or the people around us, but telling Jesus how much we love Him. So no matter what kind of voice you have, you can sing out with all of your heart.

Teaching

At GAC, we believe that the Bible is God’s gift to us to show us who He is and what He’s done for us. Every week, we teach straight from the Bible in a way that is helpful and challenging.

Prayer

One of the greatest privileges we have as followers of Jesus is being able to pray with boldness and confidence. We’ll pray together throughout our time this morning. Also, if you would like to have someone pray for you, any of our pastors and staff would be honored to pray with you after the worship gathering – you’ll find them up front, waiting to serve you.

Communion

Communion is something that Jesus began the night before he died as a way for his followers to remember and participate in his death on the cross. At GAC, we celebrate communion together the 1st Sunday of every month.

Do visitors have to stand up and say anything?

No, you sure don’t. We will give you a connection card and ask you to drop it in the offering plate so we can have a record of your visit.

Am I expected to participate in the offering?

No. We don’t invite you to Glendora Alliance Church for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God’s Word, and a place where you can grow in God’s grace. Please don’t feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.
